Urgent Vietnam eVisa for Taiwan Passport Holders (2026)
Urgent Vietnam eVisa for Taiwan Passport Holders
Short answer: Taiwan passport holders need a visa for Vietnam — there is no exemption. The eVisa is the route: up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, entirely online, official processing about 3 working days. Taiwan shares Vietnam’s working afternoon almost exactly, which makes same-day processing realistic if you apply at the right hour.
Do Taiwan passport holders need a visa?
Yes. Taiwan is not on Vietnam’s visa-exemption list. Since August 2023, Vietnam has issued eVisas to citizens of all countries and territories, up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, with no embassy visit required.
What to have ready
- Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival, with 2 blank pages
- A clear scan of the bio page
- A photo, 4x6cm, white background, no glasses, both ears visible
- Your flight details and your first hotel in Vietnam
- The exact airport from your ticket
Timing
Vietnam is 1 hour behind Taipei. Vietnamese offices run 7:30 to 17:30 local time, which is 8:30 am to 6:30 pm Taiwan time — almost your whole working day.
Apply during Taiwanese business hours on a weekday and the urgent tiers work as advertised. Apply at midnight and nothing moves until the next Vietnamese morning, whatever any provider claims.
- Urgent — 4 to 8 working hours, weekdays
- Emergency — 1 to 2 hours, weekdays. See emergency Vietnam eVisa
- Weekend and holiday — a separate tier
Fees are on our pricing page. Plan around Tet: Vietnamese and Taiwanese Lunar New Year fall together, and Vietnamese offices close for several days.
Single entry or multiple entry?
Government fees are USD 25 single entry, USD 50 multiple entry, both up to 90 days, and non-refundable even if refused.
Taiwanese business travellers often combine Vietnam with a stop elsewhere in the region. If leaving and returning is possible, take multiple entry — re-entering on a single-entry eVisa is not possible, and reapplying from abroad mid-trip costs far more than the extra USD 25.
Where you can enter
Vietnam accepts eVisas at 83 international border gates since Resolution 389/NQ-CP added 41 in December 2025. Direct flights from Taipei and Kaohsiung land mainly at Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Noi Bai (Hanoi), Da Nang and Cam Ranh. The gate on your eVisa must match your ticket.
Why applications get refused
- Photo ratio. 4x6cm is taller than wide; square crops fail.
- Name entry. Use the romanised spelling exactly as printed in your passport’s machine-readable zone, not another transliteration of the same name.
- Airport mismatch with the ticket.
- Passport expiring inside 6 months of your entry date.
- Entry date set after your arrival. You cannot enter before the eVisa starts; arriving later is fine.
Applying yourself vs using us
You can apply directly at evisa.gov.vn for the government fee alone. If your trip is a week or more away and your documents are in order, do that. Our service fee buys speed, a check before submission, and follow-up — worth it inside 72 hours, after a refusal, or when moving a group.
We are a licensed Vietnamese tourism-services agent, not a government body.
